Ecolabel

In addition to the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), KLH Massivholz GmbH has now also received the Nordic Swan Ecolabel (Licence No. 3010 0030), one of the world’s toughest and most recognized environmental certifications.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel was established in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers as a voluntary ecolabelling scheme for the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The entire life cycle of the product, from raw material to production, use, disposal and recycling, is considered when drawing up the requirements for a particular product type. The requirements are 100% transparent and publicly available. Products with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel must satisfy strict requirements when it comes to substances and chemicals that are harmful to health and the environment. These measures create opportunities for reusing the materials and minimising the amount of waste.

NORDIC SWAN ECOLABEL:

  • Sets strict environmental requirements in all relevant phases of a product’s life cycle
  • Sets strict requirements for chemicals used in ecolabelled products
  • Tightens requirements for goods and services continuously to create sustainable development
  • Certifies and verifies that all requirements are met before a product is approved.
