KLH®
since 1997.
We pioneered the manufacture of cross-laminated timber (Kreuzlagenholz – KLH®, CLT, X-LAM) and have developed the product in cooperation with the Technical University of Graz in 1996. After many years of research and development, we opened our production facility in Teufenbach – Katsch in 1999 and have gradually extended it.
We operate internationally which is why our large-formate KLH® solid timber boards are not just used in Europe, but all across the globe as wall, ceiling and roof elements in structural timber construction. KLH Massivholz GmbH is fully owned by Johann Offner Unternehmensgruppe, a traditional family business with a history of more than 250 years.
Responsibility
The sensitive handling of environmental and energy issues has increasingly moved the use of wood as a renewable construction material into the foreground of modern, ecological building culture. And for sound reasons: Timber is naturally carbon-neutral and energy-efficient in every respect.
Constructing with KLH® is therefore a valuable contribution to climate and environmental protection. With its PEFC certification, KLH® guarantees to exclusively source the valuable raw material of wood from sustainably managed forestry.
In the production of its solid timber boards, KLH® focusses on contemporary, energy-saving and environmentally friendly production methods. Their production is also entirely harmless for our employees and has no effects harmful to human health whatsoever. KLH® solid timber boards comply with emissions class 1. They can be unhesitatingly disposed of thermally and do not leave behind more residue than non-laminated timber when burned.
Our
Services
Our service offerings range from general technical advice, structural pre-measurement of KLH® solid timber boards, the assessment of building components from a structural physics perspective all the way to the development of project-specific construction details. Research and development have always accompanied us in the process. Upon request, we also support our customers with the creation of works plans and project optimisation. Precisely cut to fit in the factory, the elements are delivered directly to the construction site.
We see ourselves not just as a manufacturer, but rather as a project partner for architects, construction engineers and executing companies. We also gladly serve as advisers for private and public clients in the development of plans for the construction of a solid timber structure.
Our customers value us as a reliable partner in demanding timber construction of lasting value and can capitalise on our more than 20 years of experience.
